The Levriero Meridionale, or Southern Italian Greyhound, is a slender, light-boned greyhound-type dog with an athletic build, long legs, and a short coat. It is fast, agile, hardy, and alert. It is a rare breed or local type of dog associated with the southern regions of Italy. It should not be confused with the Piccolo Levriero Italiano, or Italian Greyhound—that is a different, much smaller dog.
