L-2-hydroxyglutaric acid (L-2-HGA) adhduria is an inherited metabolic disorder that leads to the accumulation of abnormal metabolites in the dog’s body, particularly in the nervous system. A mutation in the gene responsible for L-2-hydroxyglutaric acid metabolism results in excessive accumulation of L-2-hydroxyglutaric acid, causing damage to brain cells. <\/p>\n
